About Kleine und große Pfoten e.V. 🐾
Kleine und große Pfoten e.V. is a registered non-profit animal welfare organization dedicated to helping dogs who would otherwise have little to no chance. The association primarily supports dogs in and around Varna, Bulgaria, working closely with private and public shelters as well as committed local foster homes.
Many of these dogs come from difficult backgrounds: life on the streets, overcrowded shelters, or situations where they could not receive proper care. The organization provides medical treatment, vaccinations, neutering, and, most importantly, time, patience, and responsibility.
A crucial part of the work, however, takes place in Germany.
One of the most important pillars of the organization is its German foster homes.After arriving, the dogs are given time to settle in, feel safe, and slowly build trust. Within a family environment, they learn everyday routines and gradually show their true personalities.
This allows for careful and suitable placements, not rushed, but responsible.
Foster homes give the dogs a protected transition into their new lives and the chance to find a truly fitting forever home.
Some dogs are adopted directly from Bulgaria, while others first travel to a German foster home, where they are carefully prepared step by step for their new beginning. Every adoption process is carried out thoughtfully, transparently, and with close personal communication.
Behind Kleine und große Pfoten e.V. stands a dedicated team of volunteers who invest countless hours into organization, education, foster support, adoption processes, and follow-up care.
In the long term, the organization dreams of establishing its own shelter near Varna to sustainably improve local housing conditions and provide even more targeted help.
Every single dog represents a story.
